Prof. Zheng got his Bachelor degree in Metal Materials and Heat treatment in July, 1993 from Harbin Shipbuilding Engineering Institute (Currently Harbin Engineering University), and got his Ph.D in Materials Science in September 1998 from Harbin Institute of Technology. After taking the assistant professor(1998-2000), associate professor(2000-2003), full professor (2003-2004) positions at School of Materials Science and Engineering, Harbin Institute of Technology, Prof. Zheng joined in Peking University as full professor in October 2004. Prof. Zheng had worked as senior research associate at City University of HongKong(1999.10-2000.06), visiting scientist at Lumenous Devices Technology Corporation, USA (2002.11-2002.12), research fellow at The University of Western Australia, Australia(2003.12-2004.05), senior research fellow at City University of HongKong(2009.07-2009.08) and Visiting scholar at Hannover Medical School, Germany(2010.08-2010.09).
Currently Prof. Zheng is working at the Department of Advanced Materials and Nanotechnology, College of Engineering, Peking University. He serves on the Editorial Boards of International Journals "Journal of Biomedical Materials Research: Part B - Applied Biomaterials " , “Materials Letters” , “Journal of Materials Science & Technology” and “Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Letters)” and Chinese journals “Materials Review”, “Functional Materials” and "Journal of Harbin Engineering University".

• Optimal design and evaluation of biomedical devices using FEA
• Surface modification of biomedical materials
• Nanomechanical analysis of biomedical materials
